In a comprehensive exhibition of art by the enigmatic peoples of the Benue Valley—25 ethnic groups who live along the river that flows through the center of Nigeria to the Atlantic Ocean—150 objects, including masks and maternal figures, are shown along with works symbolizing rites of passage.
