This evening-length work for five dancers features an original score by Jonas Leuenberger and costumes by Jamielyn Duggan. A study in the embodiment of volatility, BIG SALT draws from images of tenderness, power struggle, and eruption to portray the world-shaking passage of becoming a parent. , Jun 7-8. $25-40.

This is what SF/Arts curator Heather Desaulniers had to say about Big Salt :

The Anata Project is back at Joe Goode Annex this spring with the world premiere of “BIG SALT,” a quintet exploring the wild, wonderful, surreal ride that is parenthood. With an original score by Jonas Leuenberger and costumes by Jamielyn Duggan, the work takes a broad emotional lens, embodying both charged and gentle moments through Artistic Director Claudia Anata Hubiak’s lush physicality.
