Treasure Island Museum

A new large public artwork will debut on Treasure Island beginning September 22nd and remain in place through 2022. San Francisco-based conceptual artist Tom Loughlin created Signal; a free, interactive piece made from three 12-ton girders that used to be on the Eastern span of the old San Francisco Bay Bridge. It also uses an original signal light from the top of the old bridge.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock had to say about SIGNAL :

The Bay Bridge Steel Program was developed by the Oakland Museum of California and the Toll Bridge Program Oversight Committee to effectively recycle steel from the former Bay Bridge as new public art projects. This first project, SIGNAL, by San Francisco-based conceptual artist Tom Loughlin, implements three 12-ton girders and a rare, original signal light from atop the bridge.
