Love & Longing

Root Division

Drawing upon a variety of media and conceptual strategies, works in Love & Longing share a sensibility fraught with loss, and reactions layered over time. Chipping away at the wall separating art and life, the works exhibited challenge, intensify, and grapple with engagement and connection. These works visually and aurally engage with unlikely, ungraspable hope, and a call for radical empathy and deepening relationships, in our own dark time.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock had to say about Love & Longing :

Artist Mel Day has curated a group exhibition that grapples with engagement and connection in these volatile political times, in an effort to call for radical empathy and deepened relationships as a counterweight to daily horrors. Featured artists include Carissa Potter Carlson, Miriam Dym, Jonn Herschend, Linda Mary Montano and The Welcome Project, and many others.
