Heron Arts

Heron Arts is pleased to present a group exhibition of new and original works by a curated selection of Nordic and local artists from multiple mediums. Curators Tova Lobatz and Danika Maia have selected artists from Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, and more - whose works shine a light on the concept of cultural identity, stereotypes, nationalism and multiculturalism in a world with continuously expanding borders.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock had to say about Illuminate :

This expansive group exhibition offers a cultural exchange through the lens of Nordic and California artists whose work considers cultural identity, stereotypes, nationalism and multiculturalism. It features works by Chad Hasegawa, Michele Pred, Jenny Sharaf, Tracey Snelling and Eirdis, among many others, and includes photography, painting, sculpture and installation.
