"The Language Archive"

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley announces a stellar cast of acclaimed Broadway and TV stars for The Language Archive, launching the Tony Award-winning theatre company's celebratory 50th Anniversary season. Written by Julia Cho, whose Aubergine captured rapturous praise and multiple awards, The Language Archive is balanced delightfully between affection and adversity.

This is what SF/Arts curator Jean Schiffman had to say about "The Language Archive" :

Playwright Julia Cho, whose poignant “Aubergine” was a hit a few years ago at Berkeley Rep, explores the eloquence, and the inherent and contradictory opacity, of words in this earlier, quite lyrical, work. In it, a linguist (actor Jomar Tagatac) is studying dying languages. The TheatreWorks cast also includes Francis Jue (the star of Lauren Yee’s recent “King of the Yees”) as well as Elena Wright, who appeared in the play in 2013 in Berkeley.
