Encounter Lecture: Bach/Beethoven

[email protected]

Ara Guzelimian, Provost and Dean of the Juilliard School, leads [email protected]'s first Encounter Lecture of its "Incredible Decades" festival focusing on two decades--1710–1720 & 1790–1800. Guzelimian speaks on the creation of musical splendor in the early eighteenth century through such luminaries as Vivaldi, Handel, and Bach. He then transitions to the composers Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven that reinvented music again by the end of the century.
