The San Quentin Project

UC Berkeley Art Museum Pacific Film Archive

Bay Area artist Nigel Poor began volunteering as a professor for the Prison University Project, a non-profit organization that provides higher education at San Quentin State Prison, in 2011. The San Quentin Project has evolved out of her experiences teaching visual literacy and working collaboratively with her students. A number of Poor's "mapping exercises" are on display.
