Incoming: Richard Mosse

San Francisco Museum of Modern Art

Richard Mosse's three-screen digital projection Incoming (2017) charts the current refugee crisis in Europe. The video installation tracks two major flows of migrants from war-torn regions of Africa and the Middle East to emergency shelters in France and Germany. This will be the West Coast premiere of the 52-minute immersive work, and will also be accompanied by a selection of related photographs of refugee camps.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock has to say about Incoming: Richard Mosse :

Irish conceptual photographer Richard Mosse is featured in simultaneous solo presentations this season at Altman Siegel and SFMOMA – such a treat to have these two considerations happen together, a veritable feast for the eyes. Widely known for his photographs of the war using color infrared film, his newest body of work focuses on the precarious beauty of the rainforest.
