Capitol Theater Silent Film Series

Oakland Museum of California

Shown within OMCA's new exhibit, "No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man," the Capitol Theater is a fully operational miniature Art Deco theater complete with a snack bar, box office and twelve seats where visitors can partake of part or all of a 50-minute program consisting of six new silent films with original scores, made in a 1920s vintage style. The novel concept is the brainchild of a San Francisco outfit called Obsolete Pictures.
