A Day of Silents

San Francisco Silent Film Festival

SFSFF's annual A DAY OF SILENTS takes place on Saturday, December 7! This all-day live-cinema event happens at San Francisco's movie palace Castro Theatre--5 programs, all with fabulous live musical accompaniment!

This is what SF/Arts curator Sura Wood has to say about A Day of Silents :

This marathon of silent gems starts with a trio of collaborations between two com-ic geniuses: Buster Keaton and the scandal-tarnished “Fatty” Arbuckle, who discovered Keaton and mentored Charlie Chaplin. Also on the bill, “Woman with a Movie Camera,” a program of shorts by French innovator, Alice Guy-Blache, one of the first to direct narrative films and the sole woman to have ever owned a movie studio.
