8th Annual San Francisco Son Jarocho Festival

This festival spans five days of performances, workshops and a free community sing-and-dance-a-thon at the Brava Theater celebrating the folk music of Veracruz, Mexico and female artists of the genre, with Bay Area vocalist/instrumentalist Mónica María performing on Saturday before renowned zapateado dance master Rubí Oseguera, direct from Mexico, presents the U.S. premier of her work Quebranto.
