The Harlem Renaissance at 100

Jewish Community Center of San Francisco

Film archivist/historian Mark Cantor–whom Ken Burns has cited for having one of the best collections of jazz film in the world–presents rare footage of music, dance and comedy performances of artists who lived, worked and created a cultural epicenter in Harlem. Beloved Bay Area musician, composer and educator Marcus Shelby provides the live music soundtrack for a dance party after the screening.
