Sonya Rapoport: biorhythm

San Jose Museum of Art

Sonya Rapoport: biorhythm focuses on a decade of rapid transformation in the artist's practice--from her first SJMA exhibition of paintings in 1974 to her computer-mediated interactive performances--examining the artist's prescient exploration of computer-collected and -analyzed personal data and its aesthetic and cultural implications.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock has to say about Sonya Rapoport: biorhythm :

Some full circle aspects of this Sonya Rapaport survey are very satisfying -- it’s great to see the institutional arc of work that started out at experimental art space WORKS/San Jose in the early 80s. Rapaport’s explorations at the intersection of developing computer technologies, data accumulation, and information systems positioned her well ahead of the South Bay’s digital curve.
