“For the heads and the dancers alike,” (((folkYEAH!))) is bringing ESG to Oakland: the iconic and relentlessly groovy funk quartet from the Bronx has inspired punk, house, hip-hop, and disco scenes since the ’80s. If that weren’t already enough, legendary dub architect Scientist will be in attendance as well, live mixing with performances from local bands Mild Universe and Naked Roommate and transforming their sound in real time. This timeless lineup is a rare convergence of dub, punk-funk, and avant-garde energy that you most assuredly won’t get anywhere else in the Bay.
