SF/Arts Curator Insight
The popular programs, where the orchestra performs scores live as films are projected on a large screen above the Davies Hall stage, returns in fine form with two audience favorites: Rob Reiner’s inimitable, oft-parodied “The Princess Bride” with a score by Mark Knopfler, followed by Ron Howard’s star-studded “Apollo 13,” (James Horner, composer), about the aborted 1970 lunar mission in which Tom Hanks utters the famous words, “Houston, we have a problem.”
