18th San Francisco Latino Film Festival
About
Cine+Más SF will open its 18th annual San Francisco Latino Film Festival with STREET SMART: Lessons from a TV Icon, a documentary about Sonia Manzano, the Bronx-born actress, writer and educator who became the first Latina to appear regularly on American television when she joined Sesame Street as Maria.
The festival, which runs through Nov. 1 at venues across San Francisco, will present 20 feature films along with a broad selection of short films from filmmakers in the Bay Area, across the United States, Latin America and Spain. A virtual program will run Oct. 26 through Nov. 5.
The opening-night screening will take place at 6 p.m. at the Roxie Theater, 3117 16th St.
