On Sunday, Dec. 31, the Asian Art Museum marks the close of 2023 and welcomes 2024 with its annual Japanese New Year Bell-Ringing Ceremony, inviting members of the public to reflect upon the passing year and literally ring in the New Year by striking a 2,100-lb., 16th-century Japanese bronze bell.

Bell-ringing is free with general admission but requires a numbered ticket available on site. Public ceremony will begin at 12:30pm, Members at 10am.
