SF/Arts Curator Insight
The upcoming festival features “The Wild One,” a doc on the late Jack Garfein, a Holocaust survivor, co-founder of the Actors Studio, Broadway director and filmmaker. The film includes recollections of his Czech youth and flight from the Nazis, his internment at Auschwitz, where he encountered Josef Mengele, his tenure in New York and tutelage by Lee Strasberg, his marriage to Carroll Baker and friendship with Marilyn Monroe. What a life. Readings by Willem Dafoe.
