SF/Arts Curator Insight
Alice down the rabbit hole is a popular metaphor these days but you can actually witness it in Walt Disney’s 1951 animated musical adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classics. The stories’ characters, who’ve become the stuff of legend, are resplendent: a volatile Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter and of course Alice undergoing alarming size changes in her quest to find the waist-coasted White Rabbit, perpetually horrified at the prospect of being late.
