SF/Arts Curator Insight
The revitalization of Union Square is in full swing with free movies for the public. Audiences should bring their own seating and layers of clothing for the city’s famously unpredictable weather but, you might also want to grab a helmet for Hitchcock’s terrifying, 1963 horror/thriller “The Birds.” Shot largely in scenic Bodega Bay, it introduced Tippi Hedren (Melanie Griffith’s Mom) to the world. For tamer fare, try Disney’s animated romp, “Big Hero Six,” a buddy movie about a giant inflatable robot and a teen prodigy.
