SF/Arts Curator Insight
On this year’s dynamite program: “Amy Tan: Unintended Memoir,” an intimate bio of the San Francisco author of “The Joy Luck Club” that combines home movies, personal photos and interviews; and, “Playing with Sharks,” whose spectacular ocean footage pays tribute to daring Australian underwater photographer, Valerie Taylor. The first to dive with Great Whites without a cage, Taylor shot the thrilling live shark sequences in “Jaws” and spent her life swimming against the tide.
