About
Four dancers move through the four rooms and passageways of this installation fusing dance, text, architectural environment, and sound score; they pass through the audience as they move to different rooms; the audience watches from the passageways and periphery. Sharing the space, the audience creates a silent dialogue and an immediacy through their attention and rhythms.
SF/Arts Curator Insight
The Forum at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts is ideal for immersive dance performance - vast and open, the possibilities for what art might unfold within it are endless! Known for its mobile, immersive, collaborative projects, Liss Fain Dance will take up residence in this space at the end of January with a two-part evening – “End Point/Open Time.” 2024’s “Open Time” explores the complicated and beautiful contradiction between a desire for remoteness and a yearning for companionship. In the premiere of “End Point,” the gaze is turned toward one of the body’s five main senses. How do we process what we see, notice and observe? What can we do with that information? And how does it change our perspective on the world around us?
