About

Presented by and housed on Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC)’s historic waterfront campus, FORT MASON FLIX is a pop-up drive-in theater showing hit movies six days a week, from family favorites and cult classics to blockbusters and arthouse cinema.

SF/Arts Curator Insight

Ft. Mason’s inaugural drive-in experiment was so successful, the programs, shown on a jumbo high definition screen in the parking lot, have been extended through the end of the year. Grab a parka and a hot chocolate and cozy up on the waterfront over the holidays to watch cult hits, art house movies and comedies such as: “A Christmas Story” (1983), “Elf” starring Will Ferrell, and the considerably less heartwarming, “The Shining,” Stanley Kubrick’s thoroughly terrifying descent into snowbound madness.
