Infinite Horizons: The Films of Werner Herzog
About
With a career that spans more than six decades, Werner Herzog has created an exceptional body of work that encompasses nonfiction and narrative filmmaking, prose writing, directing opera and theater, and appearing as both a subject and an actor in film and television. His involvement is total.
SF/Arts Curator Insight
Unique, a descriptor too often tossed around, certainly applies to Herzog, an exceptional storyteller, an actor with a formidable screen presence and a writer/director with a distinctive cast of mind and taste for unusual subjects he has pursued to the ends of the earth. This wide ranging series, covering his 60-year career, includes several notoriously volatile collaborations with charismatic actor Klaus Kinski, whom he described as deranged and whose “wild beast” he claims to have harnessed.
