About
TINT showcases contemporary artists who innovate across media, spotlighting women artists in particular. We look for the unusual, the surprising, the unordinary. Our artists find unexpected ways to use common media, creating a craft of their own along the way.
SF/Arts Curator Insight
Inside meets outside in this Hayes Valley gallery show. SF artist Jessie Laura's intricate white monochrome wood and paper constructions generate a sense of calm and balance in an off-kilter world. Inspired by cityscapes, they conjure another, more orderly existence -- a place to exhale. Bay Area native Ning Ma's bio reads like a year's worth of National Geographic. The self-described photographer and mountaineer has walked across 30+ countries over 5 continents, where she captures striking images of places infrequently traveled and thus rarely seen. Dasha Pears expresses emotional states in photographic form. She refers to her work as "psychorealism", which appears as subjects caught in contemplation; faded blue and white landscapes subtly shift to indicate what's going on inside their minds.
