SF/Arts Curator Insight
Recipient of the National Humanities Medal from President Obama and named Commendatore of the Italian Republic by President Sergio Mattarella, Jhumpa Lahiri has been a leading literary light since her debut story collection “The Interpreter of Maladies” won the Pulitzer and the PEN Award in 2000. Her latest, “Roman Stories,” which she wrote in her adopted language of Italian and translated into English, captures Rome as both metropolis and monument.
