A poetic exploration of the natural world enfolding the scholarship of the botanical sciences in the chaotic, unpredictable forces of nature. Biagini’s signature mixed media process starts with a grid of textbook pages, graphic imagery including botanical illustrations and woodblock prints are overlaid, atmospheric paint washes and her own drawings are overlapped, layers are integrated by sanding back into the accrued materials.
Founded in 2006, Mercury 20 is a contemporary art gallery established, supported and operated by San Francisco Bay Area artists. Mercury 20 maintains a gallery space in Oakland, CA as well as an online sales platform. Our collective operating structure supports our ability to experiment, develop, exhibit and advance our work and to sustain our arts community.
