What you notice first is the loving preservation of the building’s façade; House of Seiko, the gallery, retains the name of the watch and “jewelery” repair shop that inhabited its Mission district space for three decades. Two huge window boxes open into a small white storefront; pristine walls, floor, and ceiling flaunt fresh gems crafted by local artists. March’s exhibition unveils new work by sign painter Lauren D’Amato, who is busy pushing her "day job" skills into virgin territory.
