Mercury 20 is delighted to present its first juried exhibition in its more than 15-year history as an artist-run space. The theme emerged in response to the global pandemic and how artists metamorphosed through that time of isolation and uncertainty.
Metamorphosis dwells in the place of change, growth, and evolution. It represents the profound transformation that occurs within and around us, be it physical, emotional, or spiritual.
Founded in 2006, Mercury 20 is a contemporary art gallery established, supported and operated by San Francisco Bay Area artists. Mercury 20 maintains a gallery space in Oakland, CA as well as an online sales platform. Our collective operating structure supports our ability to experiment, develop, exhibit and advance our work and to sustain our arts community.
