The MVA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and Business Improvement District. The assessments paid by MVA members and associate members are used to fund beautification, safety and security, maintenance, litter and blight removal, economic development, engaging community events and other revitalizing efforts not otherwise funded by the City of Oakland.
