SF/Arts Curator Insight
Whether you’re a confirmed Francophile, want to brush up on your French or simply love French cinema, the Alliance Française offers a trio of contemporary movies shown in-person, in French with English subtitles. They include: “Trois Nuits Par Semaine”(Dec. 3) about a budding photographer who meets a young drag queen from Paris and dives into her world; “Divertimento” (Jan. 7), in which, the teenager, whose twin sister is a professional cellist, yearns to be a conductor; and, “Tout le Monde Aime Jeanne” ( Jan 21), which focuses on the aforementioned Jeanne who, depressed and in deeply in debt heads to Lisbon and bumps into a whimsical and somewhat intrusive former high school friend.
