Founded in 1957, the San Francisco International Film Festival (SFFILM Festival) is the longest-running film festival in the Americas. The SFFILM Festival is deeply rooted in the culture and process of film appreciation—film as an art form and as a meaningful force for social change—and is an important showcase for the most searching and innovative films from around the globe.

The San Francisco International Film Fest has a long and storied history in the city and retains a prominent, unrivaled place in the realm of area film events. This year features its usual array of glittery special guests, awards and honorees, debut works from emerging talent, a section devoted to Cine Latino, and an ample selection of international cinema, docs and shorts as well as traditional emphasis on local creators and crews.
