About
Sound Summit celebrates its 10th Anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 13th, as CAKE returns to the slopes of Mount Tam to headline another eclectic day of music high above San Francisco Bay.
Joining the ever-engaging crowd favorite is Canadian alt-pop powerhouse Alvvays in their only California performance of the year; a special Bay Area multi-artist celebration of musical icon Sly & The Family Stone featuring Taj Mahal, Narada Michael Walden, Martin Luther McCoy, Vicki Randle, Rustee Allen, members of Graham Central Station, and many more; beloved indie rockers Real Estate; and self-described purveyors of “Cosmic Mountain Music,” Wolf Jett.
SF/Arts Curator Insight
Did you know there’s a 4,000 seat natural stone amphitheater atop Mount Tam with a yearly music festival? Sound Summit is bringing out heavy-hitter indie rockers Cake, Alvvays, and Real Estate this September to play at this dreamy locale, alongside a special tribute to San Francisco’s own psych-rockers Sly & The Family Stone. If you thought it couldn’t get any better: the show is a benefit for Mount Tam State Park, funding trail restoration, historic building renovations, fire prevention, and more.
