The Cartoon Art Museum has an ever-changing exhibition calendar, with two major new exhibitions debuting 3-4 times a year, plus pop-ups and special spotlights. Traveling exhibitions are also available.

Two shows rooted in the museum’s permanent collection have been refreshed with pieces not previously displayed. Among the new acquisitions now part of the retrospective Sunday Funnies are comics featuring "Mutts” by Patrick McDonnell and “Brenda Starr” by Dale Messick. Meanwhile, the additions to “A Treasury of Animation” include television and theatrical animation artwork from the trove of “MazeToons” cartoonist Joe Wos, who donated his archives to the permanent collection.
