The Visible Press: Jean-Luc Godard/Lis Rhodes
About
Celebrating two recent publications by The Visible Press, London, this mash-up program features works by two artists embodying the political and formalist poles of radical filmmaking, placing Jean-Luc Godard’s aggressively polemical Marxist (and rarely seen) documentary harangue British Sounds (1969) in dialog with a selection of British filmmaker Lis Rhodes’ early-70s animation-on-film works and the cryptically essayistic Light Reading (1978).
