Unarmed Truth
About
What can your art reveal about the truth? Art can transform, empower, and bring us together. It gives space to actively listen and to speak freely without minimizing the perspectives of others. Truth can hurt, heal, and make way for genuine self-expression. New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU) invites Santa Clara County high school students to create an original work of art that reveals a personal or universal truth.
SF/Arts Curator Insight
Every year, the New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU) invites Santa Clara County high school students to create an original work of art following a theme selected by the NUMU Teen Council. This year, the theme is Unarmed Truth, a theme requesting each submitting student create a work that reveals a personal or universal truth. From Palo Alto to Gilroy, the included students are able to show their widely varying works in an institution and gain real-world experience in participating in a juried museum exhibition.
