Wicked
About
WICKED returns home to the Bay Area to cast a spell on audiences once again. The Broadway sensation looks at what happened in the Land of Oz…but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin—smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships…until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.”

to me
Something “Wicked” this way comes - to the Orpheum, another chance to see the multi-award-winning Broadway musical by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman. An imaginative precursor to the classic children’s tale “The Wizard of Oz,” it’s the funny, touching story of the two witches as young women—Elphaba, the green-skinned “other,” and popular, chuckle-headed Galinda (later, Glinda the Good)—and how Elphaba grew into the Wicked Witch of the West.
